Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 3 tbsp rice
  2. 1 tbsp ghee
  3. 2 1/2 - 3 cup milk
  4. 1 pinch saffron strands
  5. 4 tbsp milk powder or mawa
  6. 1/3 cup sugar
  7. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  8. 2 tbsp dry fruits (kaju, badam, pista, chironji, kishmish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the rice for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Soak the saffron strands in 1 tbsp luke warm water and keep aside.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker, add soaked rice and roast for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add 2 cups of milk, cover the lid and cook for two whistle, put off the flame.
  5. When it cools down, open the lid, add saffron water, milk powder, cardamom powder, dry fruits, sugar and left over milk.
  6. Cook on low flame, till kheer gets the creamy texture. Garnish with dry fruits.
