Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 2 cups lukewarm milk
  2. 1 cup grated mawa (135 gm)
  3. 1 cup maida (120 gm)
  4. 8-9 pista for garnish
  5. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  6. 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  7. 1 Cup water

Instructions

  1. For the batter: Take a bowl, add grated mawa and plain flour, add little amount of milk and start blending with the electric blender. Add more milk to prepare a batter like the jalebi batter. Some milk can be left.
  2. Keep aside this batter for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. For sugar syrup: Heat a vessel, add water and sugar, when sugar dissolves completely, after 2-3 minutes turn off the flame, it should be like one thread consistency. Add cardamom powder.
  4. Heat a flat non stick pan, add oil or ghee up to one inch height.
  5. When oil is hot, pour some batter with the ladle, it will spread on its own, let it cook on low to medium flame. We can fry three to four malpua in one batch.
  6. When it is cooked, it will float on top. Flip it carefully, when it is golden brown from both sides, press it between the two palta or poni, to drain the excess oil.
  7. Place these malpua in sugar syrup for 3-4 minutes. Now take out from the sugar syrup by pressing again to drain excess sugar syrup.
  8. Garnish with pista.
