Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 200 Gms of gum berry /gunda
  2. 1/2 Cup of finely chopped onion
  3. 1Tsp of finely chopped garlic
  4. 1Tsp of green chilly finely chopped
  5. 1/2 Tsp of red chilly powder
  6. 1/2Tsp of turmeric powder
  7. 1/2Tsp of corriander powder
  8. 1/2 Tsp of cummin seeds
  9. 2Tsp of mustard oil
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Pinch of asaifoiedita
  12. 1/2 tsp of aamchur powder
  13. 1/2 Tsp of garam masala powder

Instructions

  1. KEEP 1.5 CUPS OF WATER TO BOIL
  2. ADD 1/2 TSP SALT, 150 GMS GUM BERRY / LASODA / GUNDA TO THE WATER
  3. AS IT CHANGES TO A LIGHTER SHADE & BECOMES SOFT LIKE THIS, TAKE OFF HEAT
  4. STRAIN THE WATER, REMOVE THE CAPS OF THE GUM BERRY, PRESS GENTLY TO REMOVE THE SEED
  5. SPILT THE GUM BERRY INTO HALVES, SET ASIDE
  6. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD A PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA, 1/2 TSP CUMIN SEEDS
  7. ADD 1 TSP EACH OF GARLIC & GREEN CHILLIES, 1/2 CUP CHOPPED ONIONS, FRY TILL TRANSLUCENT
  8. ADD 1 GRATED AMLA
  9. ADD 1/2 TSP EACH OF RED CHILLI, TURMERIC & CORIANDER POWDERS
  10. ADD SALT TO TASTE, 1/2 TSP GARAM MASALA POWDER
  11. ADD THE GUM BERRIES
  12. ADD 1/2 TSP AMCHUR POWDER, COOK FOR 5-7 MINS
  13. ADD 1 TSP LEMON JUICE, MIX & TAKE OFF HEAT
  14. SERVE HOT
