Bengali version of scotched eggs

Egg devil

Ingredients to make Egg devil

  • 4 boiled eggs
  • 2 large potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 2 medium onion chopped
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic chopped
  • salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp cumin and coriander powder
  • 1 tsp bengali garam
  • coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp maida
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup bread crumb
  • Shubho nabo borsho

How to make Egg devil

  1. Cut the boiled eggs into halves
  2. In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil. Add rhe garlic. Saute well. Add the chopped onions. Saute till brown.
  3. Add the boiled and mashed potatoes. Mix well. Cook for sometime
  4. Remove ànd add Maida, coriander and green chillies. Mix. Let it cool
  5. Take potato mix in hand . Flatten it. Place the halved egg in the center. Wrap it with the potato mix.
  6. Dip it in beaten egg. Roll over the bread crumbs. Keep aside
  7. Fry it in mediun hot oil till golden
  8. Cut them half and serve hot with sauce or chutney or kasundi
