Steamed Methi Muthia

Ingredients to make Steamed Methi Muthia

  • Fengureek leaves 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli and ginger paste 1/2 tsp
  • Multi grain flour 4 tbsp
  • Bengal gram flour 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Boiled Rice 1 cup
  • Curd 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Sesame seed 1 tsp
  • Shredded coconut 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Chopped coriander 1/4 cup

How to make Steamed Methi Muthia

  1. In a bowl combine all the ingredients and knead into a soft dough.
  2. Grease your hands with a little oil and pinch out dough to make small balls.
  3. Take a steam cooker and steam these balls for about 15 minutes till the toothpick inserted into it come out clean.
  4. Remove and cool a little. Slice them into 1/2 inch thick oval slices.
  5. Take oil in a wok and add mustard seeds, sesame seeds. When they splutter, add the muthias. Garnish with coconut and coriander leaves.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney.
My Tip: Take green coriander and raw mangoes, add green chilli, salt, jeera and blend it.
