Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Long grain basmati rice 500 gram
  2. Jackfruit 500 gram
  3. Ghee 2 tablespoons
  4. Oil for frying jackfruit
  5. Curd 200 gram
  6. Salt 2 teaspoon
  7. Red pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  8. 2 green chillies
  9. 2 onions
  10. Black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon
  11. 6..7 cloves
  12. 2..3 bay leaves
  13. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  14. 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  15. Some fresh mint leaves and coriander leaves
  16. 2 tablespoons cashewnuts

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for half an hour
  2. Then boil 80 percent adding whole spices black peppercorns, cloves, cardamom and bay leaves
  3. Chopped jackfruit into pieces
  4. Deep fry jackfruit and 1 onion rings
  5. Keep aside
  6. Now take ghee in a pan on medium heat
  7. Add cumin seeds
  8. Add chopped onion
  9. Add chopped green chillies
  10. Add curd
  11. Add fried jackfruit pieces
  12. Add all the spices
  13. Cook till jackfruit softens
  14. Add mint leaves and coriander leaves
  15. Now make layers of rice and jackfruit mixture
  16. Keep covered by a lid on slow flame for 3...4 minutes more
  17. Now turn off the flame
  18. Garnish with fried cashewnuts and onion rings
