Ingredients to make Chintachigiru pappu - Tender tamarind leaves dal

  • Tender tamarind leaves 1/2 cup
  • 2 green chilles
  • 1 cup toor dal cooked with little haldi
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • hing as per choice
  • curry leaves a few
  • coriander leaves as required
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil
  • MIx the following: mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • jeera 1 tsp
  • Urad dal 1/2 cup
  • Chana dal 1/2 cup
  • red chilli 1 or 2

How to make Chintachigiru pappu - Tender tamarind leaves dal

  1. Take a kadai, add oil, seasoning, hing, curry leaves, coriander leaves, tamarind leaves, haldi and green chilli.
  2. Fry for a minute, add chilli powder, cooked dal, fry for a minute and add water, salt. Let it simmer.
  3. This dal is made thicker. If you want you can adjust water and make it a little thin. Serve hot.

My Tip:

Onions and garlic can be added with green chilles.
