ABOUT Potato Poha Cutlets RECIPE

Regular cutlets with a twist - Poha Cutlets - Deep fried yet not oily, crispy & crunchy, serve hot with a cup of tea and enjoy :)

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Potato (Boiled & Mashed) - 1 Cup
  2. Poha (Medium) - 1 Cup
  3. Water - ½ Cup
  4. Bread Slice (Big) - Crumbled - 1
  5. Green Chilli (Chopped)-½ Inch
  6. Ginger - Grated - ½ Inch
  7. Coriander Leaves - Handful
  8. Khatai Powder - 3/4 Tsp
  9. Red Chilli Powder - ¼ Tsp
  10. Black Salt - ½ Tsp
  11. Salt - 3/4 Tsp or as per taste
  12. Corn Flour - 2 Tbsp
  13. Oil - for Frying

Instructions

  1. Take Poha in a bowl. Add Water. Mix Well. Let it rest.
  2. Take Potato in another bowl. Add Bread Crumbs.
  3. Add Ginger & Green Chilli.
  4. Add Khatai & Chilli Powder.
  5. Add both the salts.
  6. Add chopped Coriander.
  7. Add Corn Flour.
  8. Poha would have absorbed water by now & will have right consistency needed. Remove the excess water (if any) from the poha.
  9. Add Poha to the potato mix. Mix everything well.
  10. Carve into shapes of your choice - round, oval, Cylindrical.
  11. Heat Oil. It should be medium hot, not smokey hot.
  12. Add 7-8 cutlets at a time. Cook on high flame.
  13. Do not touch them for a minute otherwise they will break. After a minute, flip them to the other side.
  14. Cook for few seconds. Then keep on turning so that every cutlet is well cooked & crispy.
  15. Take out on a paper towel to get rid of oil, if any left there.
  16. Serve hot and enjoy :)
