Chanar Jalebi

Ingredients to make Chanar Jalebi

  • milk - 1 litre
  • lemon juice - 1 big size lemon
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • cardomom powder - 1/4 tsp -
  • maida - 2 tsp
  • ghee - 1tsp
  • 1/4 cup sugar - 1/2 cup water
  • oil - for frying

How to make Chanar Jalebi

  1. Boil the milk, squeeze lemon juice,When the milk starts curdling switch off the stove.line the sieve with cotton cloth and pour the curdled milk into it and set aside until all the water filtered out.
  2. Take the paneer from the cloth and transfer to a plate. Add maida,baking powder and cardomom powder.
  3. Knead it at least for 10 minutes until smooth. finally add ghee and knead again.
  4. In a heavy bottomed vessel add sugar and water,bring to boil until it becomes sticky.
  5. Knead it at least for 10 minutes until smooth. finally add ghee and knead again.
  6. Pinch small balls out of dough and roll the ball into a thin rope like.
  7. Shape the rope into a swirl.
  8. Heat oil in a pan,deep fry the jalebi's until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oil and directly add to the sugar syrup.Cover and let it stand for 2 hours.
  10. Yummy Chanar/ Paneer Jalebi is ready to serve.
  11. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve in room temperature or chilled.
