ABOUT Bal Mithai flowers RECIPE

Bal Mithai is a brown chocolate-like fudge, made with roasted khoya, coated with sugar balls and is a popular sweet from the Himalayan, state of Uttarakhund in india especially regions around Almora. Took inspiration from there.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Khoya 250 grams
  2. Powdered Sugar - 200 grams or to taste
  3. 1/4 cup Coco powder
  4. Colored Sugar balls or white sugar balls - 2 tbsps

Instructions

  1. In a dry heated kadai, roast khoya.
  2. Stir continuously to avoid burning and cook till browned.
  3. Add powdered sugar and cook further till the mixture attains a chocolate brown color, stirring along.
  4. Add coco powder and mix well. Remove from heat.
  5. Spread on thali which has been greased with oil.
  6. Allow to cool, roll it in round shape and make flowers with moulds.
  7. Decorate with colored or white sugar balls.
