About Methi Diyan Puriyan (Methi Puri) Recipe

Maithi (fenugreek leaves) puris are famous recipe of North india. I have made it in my own punjabi style. No side dish is needed with these puris. It is the best snack option for a picnic.

Methi Diyan Puriyan (Methi Puri)

Ingredients to make Methi Diyan Puriyan (Methi Puri)

  • methi leaves washed 1 bunch
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 3 green chillies
  • 1 tsp Ajwain seeds
  • 2 tsp oil for moain
  • salt as per taste
  • water as required
  • oil for frying

How to make Methi Diyan Puriyan (Methi Puri)

  1. First take a grinder and grind methi leaves and green chilli by using a little water.
  2. Now take a big bowl add whole wheat flour, add methi paste, ginger green chilli paste, salt as per taste, 2 tsp oil and ajwain. Mix all the ingredients well and make a dough with water. Keep this aside.
  3. Take a ball size portion and make a small disc with rolling pin for puris. Repeat this process with the remaining dough.
  4. Fry these puris in hot oil, one by one. Serve with pickle of your choice.

My Tip:

You can use finely chopped methi leaves also instead of methi paste.
