Mediterranean Meatballs

Ingredients to make Mediterranean Meatballs

  • 1/2 cup Chickpea cooked/ boiled
  • 1 cup Meat of your choice minced
  • 1/2 cup Nut of your choice
  • 1 egg
  • 3 -4 tbsp Oil to fry
  • 3 tsp Fresh Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/8 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to make Mediterranean Meatballs

  1. In the mixer, mash together chickpeas, nuts and meat until coarsely combined.
  2. Add all the spice powders into the mix along with the salt and pepper.
  3. Beat the egg lightly and add to this mix as well as the coriander leaves. Mix well. Refrigerate for one hour.
  4. Remove and shape into small bite-sized balls. Keep aside
  5. In a pan heat the oil and shallow fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides.
  6. Serve with extra coriander leaves and a wedge of lime

My Tip:

We like to serve this with a cooling tzatziki on the side
