cashew murukku is a rich, crunchy and delicious murukku prepared with rice flour and cashew paste.

Ingredients to make cashew murukku/mundhiri murukku

  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 20 cashews
  • 1 tsp White sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • salt to taste
  • water as required to make the dough
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make cashew murukku/mundhiri murukku

  1. in a mixer add cashews and some water
  2. grind it to a smooth paste
  3. take flour. add salt, asafoetida, sesame seeds, butter and cashew paste
  4. mix well
  5. add water little by little and make a dough
  6. it should neither be too stiff nor too soft
  7. take the murukku maker with attachment
  8. grease with oil and fill the dough
  9. prepare spiral shaped chaklis by pressing the machine
  10. heat oil in a pan
  11. when oil becomes medium hot, reduce the flame to low
  12. add 3-4 chaklis at a time into the oil and fry on low-medium flame till they turn crispy from both sides
  13. remove the chaklis from oil and drain on the absorbent paper
  14. serve or store in an air tight container after it becomes cool
