ABOUT Panchamrita RECIPE

Panchamrita is a mixture of five foods used in Hindu worship and puja which are usually honey, liquid jaggery, milk, yogurt and ghee. Ripe bananas are used mostly in panchamirthams . Other sweet fruits can also be used along with dry fruits . This Panchamirtham is traditionally prepared to meet Ayurvedic health benefits . Edible camphor is also being used in some parts of South India.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Ripe Bananas 6
  2. Apple de skinned 2 cut into small bite size pieces
  3. Pitted dates finely chopped 15
  4. Grapes Deseeded 20
  5. Raisins 20
  6. Jaggery syrup 4 tablespoons
  7. Rock candy (crystal shape ) 3 tablespoons
  8. Edible camphor ( optional ) a small piece .
  9. Milk 1 tablespoon
  10. Yogurt 2 Tablespoons
  11. Ghee 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl , add all the ingredients listed .
  2. Mix well thoroughly till the ingredients combine well .
  3. Using a heavy ladle , mash the ingredients to semi thick consistency .
  4. The consistency should be similar to jam .
  5. Instant Homemade Panchamrita is ready .
  6. Enjoy the divine taste .
