ABOUT Nutty Brittle RECIPE

Nutty Brittle is a quick sweet for a winter festive season like Diwali. With a very few ingredients you can make this delicious sweet. You can use nuts of your choice. The only step to take care about is while caramelising, the sugar should melt but not turn bitter.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Unsalted pistachios finely chopped 1/4 cup
  2. Unsalted almonds finely chopped 1/4 cup
  3. Sugar 1/2 cup
  4. Ghee 1 tsp
  5. Saffron strands 3-4 strands
  6. Cardamoms crushed 1-2 nos
  7. Juice of 1/2 lime

Instructions

  1. Warm ghee in a heavy skillet.
  2. Add the sugar and work on medium heat
  3. Add 2 to 3 drops of lime juice to the sugar.
  4. When sugar starts melting and caramelising , reduce the flame to low.
  5. When sugar has caramelised uniformly and no particles of sugar remain, add nuts, saffron and cardamom powder. Flame to be low throughout,.
  6. Mix and bring all together to a ball mass. then put off flame.
  7. Transfer the ball mass on a greased work surface and roll out quickly as thin as possible.
  8. Cut into desired shapes and pieces.
  9. Once cool store in air tight container.
