ABOUT Instant Bread Phirni RECIPE

Phirni is the easy Indian rice pudding dish. But in this recipe instead of rice, I have used bread for a quick and instant version.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Sweet bread - 4 slices
  2. Full cream milk - 2 cups
  3. Sugar - 2 tbsp
  4. Sweetened condensed milk - 1/4 cup
  5. Cardamom powder -1/4 tsp
  6. Chopped mixed nuts- for garnishing (I used almonds and pistachios)
  7. Saffron - few strands

Instructions

  1. *Crumble the bread slices in mixie in pulse mode and keep it aside. Take a tbsp of milk in a bowl and soak the saffron.
  2. Boil the milk in a vessel for 5 mins. Add the condensensed milk and sugar. Mix it well and boil another 3 mins. Now add the crumbled bread stir and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add the saffron milk and cardamom powder, turn off the flame. Pour the mixture in a serving bowl and garnish it with chopped nuts.
  4. Refrigerate it atleast for 1 hr before serving.
