ABOUT Methi & Moong Saag RECIPE

A very simple yet delicious iron rich fenugreek leaves and proteinous yellow moong dal mixed with fewer spice to enhance the flavor. Good to go with rotis or rice.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Methi leaves:- 3 bunch of small size cleaned , washed and chopped finely
  2. moong dal soaked in water for 20 mins
  3. Ginger- 1 inch chopped finely
  4. Onion- 1 chopped finely
  5. Hing- a pinch
  6. Water- 1/2 cup
  7. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  8. Coriander Powder- 2 tsp
  9. Tomato - 1 roughly chopped
  10. Salt as per your taste
  11. Oil as required

Instructions

  1. Squeeze out moong dal properly and set aside
  2. Heat oil add moong dal and fry until it turns little brown in color, add onion, greenchilly and ginger fry well for 5 mins
  3. Once onion starts changing its color, add turmeric powder, hing and coriander powder fry until raw smell or coriander powder goes off
  4. Add tomato and stir well allow it cook until tomato turns mushy, now at this stage add water and salt. Cook until dal is properly done
  5. Once water is completely ooze out add methi leaves and mix well. Cover with lid and cook for another 5 mins
  6. Once done serve hot with rotis or rice
