Chilli soyabean recipe is an Indo-Chinese appetizer made with sauteed soya nuggets tossed in hot and tangy sauce, a great protein-source for vegetarians. This Indian Chinese fusion recipe is made of soyabean chunks or nuggets.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Soya chunks 1 cup
  2. Onion 1 cut in big cubes
  3. Green chilli 2-3 chopped
  4. Slited green chilli 2
  5. Garlic 4cloves chopped
  6. Cornflour 3tsp
  7. Maida 2tsp
  8. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  9. Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
  10. Black pepper powder 1tsp
  11. Chopped veggies 1/2cup(carrot,capsicum, spring onions etc)
  12. Tomato 1 chopped
  13. Dark Soya sauce 1tsp
  14. Chilli sauce 1tsp
  15. Sugar 1/2tsp
  16. Oil 3tsp
  17. Salt as per taste
  18. Few Chopped spring onions for garnishing

Instructions

  1. BOIL THE SOYA CHUNKS IN HOT WATER FOR 1MIN.
  2. SQUEEZE WATER AND KEEP IN A MIXING BOWL.
  3. ADD 3TSP CORNFLOUR,
  4. 2TSP MAIDA,
  5. SALT TO TASTE, 1/4TSP TURMERIC POWDER, 1/2TSP RED CHILLI POWDER,
  6. 1/2TSP BLACK PEPPER POWDER
  7. MIX WELL.
  8. HEAT OIL IN A PAN AND SHALLOW FRY THE MARINATED SOYA CHUNKS.
  9. TAKE 1TSP DARK SOYA SAUCE IN A SMALL BOWL.
  10. ADD 1TSP CHILLI SAUCE,
  11. 1/2TSP SUGAR,
  12. SALT AS PER TASTE,
  13. MIX WELL
  14. ADD 2TSP WATER.
  15. MIX WELL AND KEEP ASIDE.
  16. HEAT OIL IN A PAN, ADD 3 CHOPPED GARLIC, 2CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES AND SAUTE FOR 30SECS.
  17. ADD CHOPPED ONION AND SLITED GREEN CHILLI.
  18. SAUTE.
  19. ADD 1/2CUP CHOPPED VEGGIES.
  20. SAUTE FOR 2MINS.
  21. ADD 1 CHOPPED TOMATO AND COOK FOR 2MINS ON MEDIUM HEAT.
  22. ADD THE PREPARED SAUCE MIXTURE AND COOK ON HIGH FOR 1-2MINS.
  23. ADD THE FRIED SOYA CHUNKS.
  24. ADD BLACK PEPPER POWDER.
  25. ADJUST SPICES AND SAUTE FOR 2MINS TILL THE GRAVY BECOMES THICK.
  26. FINALLY ADD SOME CHOPPED SPRING ONIONS.
