Ingredients to make Onion Fried Tandoori Chicken

  • Medium sized Chicken pieces (boneless) 18 pieces
  • For marination -
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 3 tbsp
  • Hung curd / fresh cream 1 cup
  • Ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
  • Kasuri methi powder 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri Chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Red food color 1 tbsp
  • For frying -
  • Large onion 3
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Veg oil 4 tbsp
  • Butter 2 tbsp

How to make Onion Fried Tandoori Chicken

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with half tbsp salt and 2 tbsp lemon juice for 15 minutes.
  2. Take 1 cup of hung curd or fresh cream, add 1/2 tbs lemon juice, and all the masalas mentioned. Add 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp red food color. Mix the mixture with the marinated chicken.
  3. Pre heat the oven at 250 degrees for 2 minutes. Put the chicken pieces into the skewer and grill for 25 minutes. Take it out after resting for 2 minutes.
  4. Heat veg oil in a kadhai. Fry the onion till translucent. Add the chicken pieces. Put 1/2 tsp lemon juice. Add salt if needed. And cook for 5 minutes. Serve hot with pudina chutney.

My Tip:

Prick the chicken pieces with a fork to infuse the marination into the pieces well.
