Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken Pieces (with bone) - 500 gm
  2. Potato - 2 big sized, cut into 4 pieces each
  3. Onion - 2 and 1/2 cup, sliced
  4. Garlic paste - 2 teaspoon
  5. Ginger paste - 2 to 3 teaspoon
  6. Tomato - 1 and 1/2 cup, chopped
  7. Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  8. Cumin powder - 2-3 teaspoon
  9. Coriander powder- 1 teapoon
  10. Garam masala powder - 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  12. Turmeric powder - 2-3 teaspoon
  13. Green chillies- 4-5
  14. Dry Red Chillies- 2
  15. Green cardamoms -2
  16. Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  17. Sugar - 1-2 teaspoon
  18. Clove - 2
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Mustard oil - 1 and 1/2cup

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with salt, turmeric powder, lime juice and 2 teaspoons of mustard oil. Keep it for half an hour to one hour.
  2. Deep fry the potatoes with salt and turmeric powder. Now heat mustard oil in a wok and add garam masala whole (cardamom, clove, cinnamon), dry red chillies.
  3. Next add the sliced onions and add a teaspoon of sugar. Stir them and wait till it turns brown in colour. Now add the ginger and garlic paste.
  4. Cook for 2 minutes and add the dry spices such as turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder and coriander powder.
  5. Mix the spices well. It's time to add the marinated chicken and cover it for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir it and add fried potatoes. Again cook for some more time. When the chicken pieces loosen from bones, add the tomatoes and cook on a medium to high flame.
  7. Once the tomatoes are properly cooked, add a cup of water and green chilli. Cover it for 5 minutes and turn off the gas.
  8. The chicken kasha is ready to be served with plain rice or paratha.
