Bihari Chicken Curry

Ingredients to make Bihari Chicken Curry

  • Chicken - 1 kg
  • Onions - 4 ( chopped)
  • Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger paste - 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Yogurt - 2 tbsp
  • Salt as required
  • Chicken masala powder - 1/2 tsp

How to make Bihari Chicken Curry

  1. Wash and drain the chicken pieces.
  2. Marinate the chicken pieces with 2 tbsp yogurt, 1/2 tbsp ginger paste, 1/2 tbsp garlic paste, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and salt for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Put in the chopped onions and fry till it turns golden brown in colour. Add the remaining ginger and garlic paste and saute it.
  4. Add the garam masala powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Cook on a high flame till the oil separates.
  5. Add the marinated chicken pieces and mix it well. Cook on a high flame for 5 minutes. Add the chicken masala powder and water. Cook on a low flame till the chicken pieces are tender.
  6. Serve it hot with paratha or pulav.

My Tip:

You can add kashmiri chilli powder for a more spicy and red colour.
