Water spinach or kolmi saag( thats what we call in bengali) is our most loved green leafy vegetable. It is good for health and can be cooked with or without prawns.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 3 to 4 bundles of water spinach
  2. Clean small prawns around 200 gms
  3. Minced garlic - 1 tsp
  4. Nigella seeds for tempering - 1 tsp
  5. Slit green chilli 3 nos.
  6. Salt
  7. whole red chilli - 2
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Chop the water spinach and clean it.
  2. Take a wok and give 1 tablespoon of oil and put nigella seeds in it.
  3. After that put the minced garlic and whole red chilli. Wait until the garlic is fried to brown.
  4. Add the prawns and fry for 1 more min.
  5. Add the water spinach, put salt, haldi and cover it with a lid and put in a low flame.
  6. Wait until it's cooked and there is little water.
  7. Dish out by adding some slit green chilli .
