Rosogullas prepared in date jaggery syrup. A must try hai naa!

Nolen Gur er Rosogullas

Ingredients to make Nolen Gur er Rosogullas

  • 1 litre milk
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • For the Syrup:
  • 100 gms nolen gur/date jaggery (powdered)
  • 50 gms of sugar
  • 3 cups of water

How to make Nolen Gur er Rosogullas

  1. In a thick bottomed pan, bring the milk to boil and keep it on a low flame for 5 minutes. Now add the lemon juice and turn off the flame.
  2. Once the chhena separates, seive it through a muslin cloth. Tie the cloth and put some weight on it to remove the excess water.
  3. After 30 minutes take the chhena in a plate and rub it till its soft with the help of your wrist. Make small balls from the dough.
  4. To make the syrup, put water in a pressure cooker and add sugar and gur together. Bring it to boil and lower the flame, let the gur and sugar melt completely.
  5. Add all the chhena balls at a go and cover with a lid. Cook till 2 whistles blow and 5 minutes on slow flame. Happy Cooking!

My Tip:

Always make sure that the balls are really smooth and there are no cracks.
