This sweet is my family special dish, this authentic sweet when served chilled makes an absolutely delicious dessert for a get together. However kids love this rich paal polis, you can prepare them earlier a day to relish this pooris dunkened in fantastic milk flavored with saffron strands and chopped nuts.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Pooris:
  2. 2cups Rava (fine quality)
  3. 1tsp Melted ghee
  4. Salt
  5. Oil for frying
  6. For Milk:
  7. 1liter Milk
  8. 1/2cup Sugar
  9. 1/4cup Almonds
  10. Few Saffron strands
  11. 1/2tsp Cardamom powder
  12. Chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Take the rava in a bowl, add the melted ghee, salt and knead everything as smooth dough with enough water. Keep aside for half an hour.
  2. Divide the dough as small balls, dust the balls and roll everything as medium sized pooris.
  3. Soak the almonds in warm water, peel the skin and grind as fine paste.
  4. Heat enough oil for frying, drop the rolled pooris and fry on both sides. Remove the pooris and drain the excess of oil.
  5. Meanwhile bring boil the milk with sugar, reduce the flame and cook for a while.
  6. Now add the almond paste, saffron strands and cook until the milk gets reduces half.
  7. Now add the fried pooris to the flavoured milk.
  8. Let it sit for a while until the pooris gets well soaked.Top it with chopped nuts.Arrange them in fridge. Enjoy chilled.
