ABOUT Aloo Bhujia RECIPE

This North Indian style Aloo Bhujia is a simple and delicious dry dish, the main flavour of this dish comes from the flavour of Panch Phoron Masala which consists of Fenugreek seed, Nigella (Saunf) seed, Cumin Seed, Mustard Seed and Fennel Seeds.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potatoes - 4 to 5 medium sized
  2. Panch Phoron Masala - 2 tsp
  3. Green Chillies - 2
  4. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  5. Mustard Oil - 2 tsp
  6. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the potatoes similar to finger chips as shown in the picture.
  2. Heat the mustard oil in a thick bottomed vessel. Add Panch Phoran Masala and Green Chillies to the oil, stir for a minute.
  3. Next, add the potatoes and mix it well. Cover and cook well for a few minutes.
  4. Add salt and turmeric and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve it warm with rice and dal on the side.
