Steamed Vegetable and Paneer Momos

Ingredients to make Steamed Vegetable and Paneer Momos

  • 2 cups maida
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 cup carrot, grated
  • 1 cup cabbage, grated
  • 50 gms paneer, very finely cubed
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • Some spring onion greens, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic and ginger finely chopped or paste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Vinegar 1/4 tsp
  • Black pepper

How to make Steamed Vegetable and Paneer Momos

  1. Mix the maida, salt and baking powder together and knead to form a stiff dough with water. Keep this aside covered with a damp cloth.
  2. Heat oil, add the onion and ginger-garlic. Saute over high heat and add the carrot and cabbage. Stir and cook on high heat till its glossy.
  3. Add paneer and spring onion green. Mix well and take it off the heat and mix in the soya sauce, salt, vinegar and black pepper.
  4. Take a generous amount of dough. Roll the dough thin and cut into 4"-5" rounds.
  5. Take one of the rolled dough, wet the edges and place some filling in the center. Bring the edges together to cover the filling. Twist to seal and fill the rest in the same way.
  6. Steam for about 10- 12 minutes and serve with soya sauce and chilli sauce.
  7. Enjoy!

My Tip:

A twist can be given to this wonderful recipe by frying the steamed dumplings.
