A kind of pickle or chutney that I learned from my Mother.

Amer Chatpataa Pickle

Ingredients to make Amer Chatpataa Pickle

  • Peeled and grated Raw mango 1 kg
  • almonds 100 gm
  • raisins 100 gm
  • cashews 100 gm
  • chana daal 2 tsp
  • Salt and red chilli powder as per taste
  • sugar/Gur 200 gms
  • Fennel, fenugreek and Kalonji 100 gms
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Saunth/Dry ginger powder 1 tsp

How to make Amer Chatpataa Pickle

  1. Heat a pan and add some mustard oil to heat, then roast the chana daal, now add raw mango and cook on a high flame for 5 minutes.
  2. Add all the dry fruits, sugar or gur and heat till it absorbs all the sugar and becomes a liitle dry.
  3. Now add all the masalas and cook it for 10 minutes till it becomes thick and brown in colour.

My Tip:

Add 1 tsp of vinegar and 5 tsp of heated mustard oil, this pickle can be stored in the fridge for 6-8 months.
