ABOUT Instant Keri No Chundo RECIPE

Keri No Chundo is an incredibly delicious Gujarati style pickle that can be found in most Gujarati Kitchens and Thalis. It's very sweet, spicy and a little sour, it has all the flavours which your taste buds crave for. Instant keri no chundo is a delicious and spicy pickle which is prepared by raw mangoes. Keri no chundo is a traditional Gujarati dish which came to us from our foremothers. It is a fruit preservative which is popularly prepared in the households of every region of India. People of different region prepare it differently according to their own taste. Keri no chundo recipe is easy and time taking, but Instant keri no chundo is a quick recipe. You can easily prepare it at your home. Instant keri no chundo is prepared by grated mangoes, sugar, oil, chili, hing, chili powder, cumin seeds and salt. Instant keri no chundo recipe needs no abundant sunlight, you can prepare it on the flame. This tangy and mouthwatering Keri no chundo can be eaten as a side dish to the main meal. You can serve this sweet and sour dish with rice or roti or any other meal. Try to keep this Keri no chundo in a clean sterilized jar, so that it will stay good for about one year.

Ingredients Serving: 20

  1. 500 gm Rajapuri Mango, grated
  2. 500-600 gm Sugar
  3. 1 tbsp oil
  4. 1 dried red chilli
  5. A pinch of hing
  6. 1-2 tbsp red chilli powder
  7. 2 tbsp cumin seeds, crushed lightly
  8. 25 gm salt

Instructions

  1. Add salt on to the grated Mango and leave it for 5 minutes. Squeeze out all the water from it.
  2. In a non-corrosive or stainless steel pan heat oil, then add the dry red chilli and hing. Add the grated mango, sugar and mix well.
  3. On a medium heat, keep cooking and stirring until the sugar dissolves. Continuously cook it till you get a 2 thread sugar syrup consistency.
  4. Turn off the heat, add red chilli powder and cumin seeds. Mix well and let it cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, store in a sterile jar.
