ABOUT Mangaudi( moong dal vadi) RECIPE

Residing country- USA, Manguadi is very famous street food of my home town . It reminds me my college days when we used to eat this lip smacking snack with tempting chutney . I always miss that street and that vendor. It totally reminds me india.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup overnight soaked yellow moong dal
  2. 1 inch ginger piece
  3. 3 -4 green chilies
  4. 1 small onion finely chopped
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  7. 1 tsp red chili powder
  8. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  9. A pinch of asafoiteda powder
  10. Half cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  11. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. First drain and wash soaked yellow moong dal .
  2. Now In grinder add moong dal , ginger and green chillies and grind it well by using lilltle water . make fine paste .
  3. Now beat this paste with hands or spatula until it becomes fluffy.
  4. Then add cumin seeds , red chili powder,garam masala , asafoietida , salt, chopped onion and coriander leaves and mix all ingredients well.
  5. Now take a kadai , add oil . When oil is getting hot then make small moong dal vadies with dal batter. and fry it until they becomes golden brown in color.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney .
