About Neeru Rotti/ Instant Roti Recipe

This recipe was taught to me by my grandmother, who also added finely chopped green chillies to this dish. However, I prefer my neeru rotti non-spicy and thus have skipped this ingredient.

Neeru Rotti/ Instant Roti

Ingredients to make Neeru Rotti/ Instant Roti

  • 2 cup Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon curry leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 cup sour curd
  • salt to taste
  • Required water to mix the flour
  • oil

How to make Neeru Rotti/ Instant Roti

  1. Place the dosa tava to heat on the stove.Take a bowl and mix in the listed ingredients. Make sure to blend this mixture well.
  2. Add in water and mix again. The rotti mixture should be as watery as possible.
  3. Fill the ladle with this mixture upto the 3/4 level and pour it in a circular manner on the heated tava, put oil along side the edges.
  4. After one side of the rotti is cooked well (the surface underneath should be light golden in color), flip it the other side,
  5. Cook the other side for 10 seconds until the desired colour appears, then transfer it to a serving plate.
  6. Serve it with all your love and some coconut chutney.

My Tip:

Try not to spread the mixture like dosa batter, just pour it in a circular manner/ shape.
