ABOUT Chorhori RECIPE

Its a Bengali preparation with a mishmash of various vegetables.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. All kinds of stalks- Stand of red and green spinach and stalks of cauliflower
  2. 1 potato, diced
  3. 1 long brinjal, diced
  4. A bit of pumpkin, diced
  5. 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  6. 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  7. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  8. 1 teaspoon mustard seed paste
  9. 2 tablespoon mustard oil
  10. 1 onion, finely chopped
  11. 2 garlic pods
  12. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a wok and add the kalonji seeds along with the onion and garlic, then saute them for 2 minutes.
  2. Add all the veggies and the mustard paste along with all the masalas. Saute it all for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Then add 1 cup of water, cover and cook till the veggies are done.
  4. Add a dash of mustard oil and serve with plain boiled rice.
