About Enduri Pitha Recipe

A semi sweetened dish steamed in turmeric leaves. This dish has a good aroma and great medicinal value.

Enduri Pitha

Ingredients to make Enduri Pitha

  • rice 500 gms
  • Urad Dhuli 200 gms
  • 10 black peppers
  • 1/2 fresh coconut (grated)
  • sugar 200 gms
  • A pinch of salt
  • turmeric leaves

How to make Enduri Pitha

  1. Grind the soaked rice and dal, also mix the crushed pepper and salt to this batter.
  2. Grate the coconut and saute with sugar in a pan till it becomes sticky.
  3. Now spread the batter on a piece of turmeric leaf and keep a little stuffing in it, cover it with another layer of batter and fold. Tie this with a thread.
  4. Steam it all in an Idli pot.
  5. Remove the leaf before serving.

My Tip:

If you don't have turmeric leaves, you can use banana leaves as well.
