Grind the soaked rice and dal, also mix the crushed pepper and salt to this batter.
Grate the coconut and saute with sugar in a pan till it becomes sticky.
Now spread the batter on a piece of turmeric leaf and keep a little stuffing in it, cover it with another layer of batter and fold. Tie this with a thread.
Steam it all in an Idli pot.
Remove the leaf before serving.
