Oats veggi nuggets

Ingredients to make Oats veggi nuggets

  • 1 and 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 and 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp green chilli and ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp haldi
  • Oil for roasting
  • Bread crumbs 1 cup

How to make Oats veggi nuggets

  1. First take the oats and grind it in the mixer into a powdery texture.
  2. Than take a flat pan, put in 1 and 1/2 cup of water and keep it to boil. When the water gets boiled, add salt and 1 tsp oil, then add the oats. Stir it constantly till it becomes thick.
  3. When it becomes thick, keep a lid on it and let it steam for 5 mins on a low flame.
  4. Take all the vegetables and cut it finely. Take another pan, put in 1 tsp oil to heat, put in the onion and sauté till it becomes light brown. Next add the carrot and sauté it for 2 mins.
  5. Than add the capsicum, cabbage, sauté it for 2-3 mins and add the ginger, garlic, green chilli paste and mix it neatly. Add the garam masala powder, haldi, salt and mix it well. Keep it aside to cool.
  6. Once it's cooled, mix the oats and veggies neatly together to make a nice dough.
  7. Grease oil on your hands and take some portion of the dough to make a nuggets as shown in the picture.
  8. Make all the nuggets and roll them on bread crumbs, then roast them on a dosa tawa with a little bit of oil on both the sides.
  9. Serve this tasty and healthy snack with green chutney.

My Tip:

1 and 1/2 cup water for 1 and 1/2 cup oats, if you add more water then the mixture will become very sticky.
