Soak rice and Chana Dal separately in water for 4 -5 hours. Grind them in a mixer separately.
Grind all other ingredients as well and mix them with the Chana Dal dough
Add about 200 ml of water to the rice dough. Mix it well (like Idly batter)
Place a container (preferably Kadhai) on a stove and place rice dough in it. Add a tablespoon of oil.
Keep stirring the rice dough on a medium heat till it becomes a thick batter similar to the batter you make while making a roti.
Put about 1/2 liter of water to boil.
Till the time when water boils, place a bit oil all over an empty plate with pores in it.
Use rice batter to make a roti of considerable size of rice batter
Keep placing the paster of Chana Dal and other ingredients in one half of the rice roti, and keep folding it with the other half, as shown in image.
Keep placing the daal filled rice roti in the plate.
Till now your water might have boiled. Place the plate on top of water boiling container.
Place another plate on top of the previous one so as to prevent the escape of any heat. Cook it for 15 - 20 minutes.
Serve hot or cold with chutneys or curries.
