As a die-hard non vegetarian and a fish lover I am always want to prepare something special on Sundays and holidays. This dish is most likely known and prepared in most coastal households. This dish has come to me from my mother in law

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Oysters (or Kalwa as it is called in Marathi) 1 cup cleaned and washed
  2. Onion 1 medium. Finely chopped
  3. Ginger and garlic paste 1tsp
  4. Tamarind pulp 1tsp
  5. Chilli powder 2tsp (more if you want it more spicy)
  6. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  7. Garam masala powder 1tsp
  8. Besan( chick pea flour 1 cup( more if required)
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except oil
  2. Keep away for 5-10 min
  3. Add enough besan to bind
  4. Shallow fry on a nonstick skillet till done from both the sides
