Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Curry cut chicken 500 grams
  2. Grated nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon
  3. Chopped coriander leaves 3 tablespoon
  4. Coconut pieces for garnish- optional 1 teaspoon
  5. Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Ghee/oil 1 tablespoon
  8. To Roast and grind
  9. Grated coconut 1/2 cup
  10. Sesame seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Ginger 1/2 inch
  12. Garlic cloves 4-5
  13. Cinnamon 1 inch
  14. Green cardamom 2-3
  15. Black cardamom 1
  16. Peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon
  17. Cloves 5-6
  18. Dry kashmiri chilli 4-5
  19. Fenu greek seeds 1/4 teaspoon
  20. Poppy seeds 1 teaspoon
  21. Coriander seeds 1.5 teaspoon
  22. Onion sliced 1
  23. Oil 2 tablespoon
  24. Saunf 3/4 teaspoon
  25. Jeera 1/2 teaspoon
  26. Small strand mace 1

Instructions

  1. Marinate 500 chicken pieces with salt, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, set aside for 30 minutes
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil, roast all the spices, 1/2 inch ginger piece, 4-5 garlic cloves
  3. Add 1 sliced onion, 1/2 cup grated fresh Coconut, saute until golden brown
  4. Allow the masala to cool completely
  5. Add to a mixer jar, add a little water, blend Into a smooth puree
  6. Heat 1 tablespoon oil, add the marinated chicken, Stir fry for 2-3 minutes
  7. Add the ready masala paste, mix well
  8. Add salt to taste, bring to a boil, cover and Cook on low heat until done
  9. Add 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg, 3 tablespoon chopped Coriander leaves, take off heat
  10. Serve hot with rice or poa
