A lehenga is one of the favorite traditional dresses of Indian women. Most women prefer to wear a lehenga for family weddings since it is easier to carry and your hands are free, unlike a saree! Be it the bride herself or guests at a wedding, everyone likes a lehenga. The only difference being that a bride’s lehenga is heavier than other women’s lehenga.
When you wear a lehenga, you can style your dupatta in various different ways and sport a unique look. Here are 5 different ways to style your lehenga dupatta:
1) Saree Drape
Make pleats from your dupatta and pin one end of it on your left shoulder. Now take the other end to your back and pin it to the lehenga near your waistline. Now you may open the pleats on your shoulder. This makes you look like you’re wearing a saree.
2) Gujarati Front Pallu Drape
Make pleats with your dupatta and take one end of the dupatta from the back to the front and pin it to your shoulder. Take the other end and bring it to the waist from the back and tuck it inside the lehenga near your waistline. Now take the end of the lehenga from the front and take to your back and pin it to the lehenga.
3) Jacket Drape
4) ‘V’ Shaped Drape
Take one end of the dupatta and pin it to your shoulder. Now make a deep ‘V’ with the dupatta, pin it and pin the dupatta to your shoulder. Now take the extra dupatta that is hanging on your back and pin it your waist.
5) Bengali Saree Drape
This style is usually worn by Bengali women on special occasions and festivals. Make pleats with the dupatta and pin it to your shoulder. Take the end of this dupatta from your back and pin it to your waist. Take the other end of the dupatta and pin to your shoulder from the front.
