Thick and lubricating in nature, sesame oil makes for an excellent moisturizer. Enriched with vitamins B complex, D and E, fatty acids and linoleum acid, the oil reaches the deep tissues in the skin and nourishes and hydrates them. It seeps into the skin and helps repair damaged cells and improve blood circulation.

One can use the oil on the face as well as the entire body. You can either leave it overnight or massage it in the morning before bathing or apply it after a hot bath.

2) Sunblock

Sesame oil forms a thin layer on the skin and protects it from the damaging rays of the sun, free radicals and oxidation, which darkens skin color.

Mix sesame oil with other essential oils, such as  lavender, clove, etc. for better benefits. The general rule is to mix three drops of any oil in a teaspoon of sesame oil. For an effective sunblock, mix a few drops of carrot seed oil and apply it on your body.

3) Cleansing

Mix sesame oil with apple cider vinegar and apply it on the face. Leave on for some time and rinse with warm water. Alternatively, apply warm sesame oil on the face and the neck using circular motions. Leave for 10 minutes. Wipe off with a cotton ball and wash your face with your regular face wash.

To make an effective scrub, rub sesame oil on the face. After five minutes, pat on some rice powder and scrub it. Wash face with lukewarm water. After ten minutes spray cold water on your face.
