Smooth, golden and mildly sweet-honey is one of the few foods that does not have an expiry date. Honey is good for the skin and the body. This miracle syrup can provide relief from common ailments such as cold and cough.

However, in addition to this, honey can also be used for various other things-


1) Common Cold

When the weather changes, people are often plagued with a cold. Instead of having a medicine to treat this, just use honey! Mix 1 tbsp honey with 1 tbsp lemon juice, add this to a cup of hot water and you are good to go.


2) Cough/Sore Throat

The nose, ear and throat are all connected to each other. When you catch a cold, your ears get blocked and you also suffer from a sore throat. But worry not! Honey is here to help you. Mix 8 tsps honey with 4 tsps lemon juice. Add this to hot water and drink it up.


3) Weight-Loss

Worried about weight gain? Well, let honey help you out with this. In hot water, add 1 tsp honey and ½ tsp cinnamon. Drink this tea after your meals and you’ll easily be able to manage your weight throughout the year.


4) Toothache

Toothache is probably one of the most unexpected things in our body. One minute we are normal and the next minute we have this blinding pain in our tooth. To help soothe the pain and get relief from toothache, add 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tbsp honey to hot water. Drink this honey-cinnamon tea to get relief from the pain.


5) Sinus

A normal headache becomes okay after some time, but when it comes to sinuses, the pain makes you very uncomfortable. It makes it extremely hard to focus on what you are doing-be it in the office or at home. Rather than having a cup of coffee or tea to help with the pain, use honey and apple cider vinegar. Add 2 tbsps of apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp honey to hot water. Drink this concoction to treat sinus pain.


6) Detoxifies the Body

Every now and then, our body needs to detox. This helps to remove harmful and unhealthy toxins from the body, which helps to improve and maintain the proper functioning of the body. To detoxify your body, simply add 1-2 tsps of honey to 1 cup of herbal tea.

Honey can be used for lots of other things, so make sure that your kitchen cupboard is always stocked with a bottle of honey!
