Everyone likes to grab a bite of the junk food but very few of them can stick to eating healthy food. what if we tell you that there is a way of eating junk food in a healthy way? Way before MasterChef made people crazy about watching the hustle that goes inside a kitchen while making delicious dishes. There was one show that gave people a taste to choose the healthier option. Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about ‘Khana Khazana’ and the man who then became the face of Indian cuisine across countries and in the hearts of millions of people.
Sanjeev Kapoor, the chef extraordinaire himself, through his Instagram page @sanjeevkapoor, continues to inspire health and flavor for millions of his followers. Quite recently, he posted a recipe for a ‘Chole Tikki Burger’ captioned “A burger with a desi style protein-filled Chole Tikki is sure to impress everyone alike. How about making one today?”
Here are the ingredients needed to make a healthy chole Tikki:
Boiled Chickpeas, 1.5 cups
Boiled Potatoes, 2 pieces
Cottage cheese, 1/4 cup
Pomegranate seeds powder, 2 tsp
Finely diced Onion, 1 piece
Chopped Green chillies, 1-2 pieces
Ginger paste, 1 tsp
Garlic paste, 1 tsp
Red chilli powder, 2 tsp
Coriander powder, 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Garam masala powder, 1 tsp
Cumin powder, 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala
Finely chopped Coriander, 2 tbsps
Finely chopped Mint leaves, 2 tbsps
Lemon, 1/2 piece
Bread crumbs, 1/2 cup
Hot coal pieces
Oil, 1/2 tsp
The simple Procedure to follow:
1. Crush the boiled chickpeas to a coarse and crumbly paste,
2. Add the boiled potatoes and other Tikki ingredients.
3. Mash them together.
4. Mix bread crumbs with the dough.
5. Place a bowl of hot coal pieces at the center of the dough and pour oil into it.
6. Cover the plate and set it aside for 4-5 minutes.
7. Uncover the Tikki dough. Roll the dough into Tikki-shaped flattened balls.
8. Deep fry the Tikkis in oil.
