History Of Matar Kulcha – All You Need To Know About Its Origin

It took years for Indians to move over the traditional bread, roti, and relish the taste of other types of flatbreads. Kulcha which is more or less like a naan is an Indian flatbread that dates back to the times of the Nizams. The Nizams who were famous for their signature dishes like nihari, kebab and shorba popularized kulcha so much that the Asaf Jahi dynasty even adopted it as their official symbol. It was prophesied that the descendants of Hazrat Nizamuddin, who had once served kulcha to an old courtier, will rule the Deccan region. The prophecy came true and we got our humble and finger-licking kulchas through the Nizams.
