Symptoms and Management of High Blood Pressure

When the blood pressure increases beyond a particular limit, you may end up with symptoms of high BP or hypertension. Such an increase in blood pressure is measured according to the resistance of the blood flow against the walls of the artery. With a high BP, the arteries are narrowed thereby increasing the resistance of the blood flow to the heart. Though this might not be dangerous initially, in the long run, this might affect your eyesight, kidney, brain, and heart and may also end up being fatal.

There are many who might be affected by a high BP but would not have identified the same.  It is necessary to understand the symptoms of hypertension, in order to manage it for a healthy life.

Types of Blood Pressure

There are two types of hypertension scenarios – One being the primary level where an increase in blood pressure might continue for many years with no proper or identifiable symptoms in the body. The other being the secondary level, wherein the blood pressure rises suddenly,  and this rise is caused by many other factors such as pregnancy, medications, illegal drugs, tumor and kidney problems.

Symptoms

Though the symptoms of high blood pressure aren’t visible or detected initially, after years you might end up facing one or more of the below-listed issues. This need not necessarily be due to hypertension but do discuss them with your doctor.
