Bhakarwadi প্রয়োজনীয় উপকরণ ( Ingredients to make Bhakarwadi Recipe in Bengali )

  • Besan/gram flour - 2 cups
  • wheat flour/Atta - 1 Cup
  • A pinch of hing
  • turmeric - 1 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • cumin/jeera seeds - 1 tsp
  • Whole Black peppercorns - 1 tsp
  • sesame seeds - 1 tsp
  • coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • poppy seeds - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 to 2 tsp
  • coconut piece - 1 inch
  • Dried mango powder/Amchur - 1/2 to 1 tsp
  • oil to deep fry

Bhakarwadi | How to make Bhakarwadi Recipe in Bengali

  1. In a bowl, take the wheat flour. Add in some oil, hing, turmeric, chili powder, salt and mix.
  2. Add some water and make a stiff dough, keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes
  3. In a blender add fennel seeds, cumin, coriander, sesame, poppy, sugar, hing, chili powder and coconut.
  4. Blitz a couple of times till you get a coarse powdered mixture.
  5. In this mixture add salt, amchur powder and mix it with the gramflour/besan. Mix well.
  6. Take the wheat flour dough and roll thin sheets. Spread the besan mixture and roll properly.
  7. Seal the edges with water, keep aside for 10 minutes. With a sharp knife, cut it.
  8. You can vary the size here as per your choice.
  9. Heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry them one or more at a time.
  10. Keep on a kitchen towel, when cool taste to check if its cooked completely.
  11. This can be stored in air tight containers for anytime or tea time snacks.
