ABOUT Coconut chutney/Nariyal ki chutney RECIPE

Coconut chutney served with Idli, sambhar, vadas etc.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups fresh grated coconut
  2. Salt 1/2 tsp
  3. Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  4. Whole red chili 4 nos
  5. Curry leaves 12 to 15
  6. Chana dal 1 tsp
  7. Oil/ghee or coconut oil 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Blend the grated coconut with salt into a fine paste adding enough water to ensure it becomes smooth.
  2. Dish out in a bowl.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan add the mustard seeds. When it starts popping,add chana dal,whole red chilies and curry leaves.
  4. Switch off the flame, pour over the chutney, mix well.
  5. Serve with idli, vada.
