Spicy fried fish with freshly ground aromatic herbs

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 pomfret, cleaned
  2. 4 tablespoons roasted semolina
  3. TO GRIND
  4. 1 bunch fresh cilantro
  5. 7 to 8 pudina leaves
  6. 4 garlic cloves
  7. 1/4 inch sized ginger
  8. 6 green chillies
  9. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  10. 2 tablespoons fresh grated coconut
  11. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  12. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients given under 'to grind ' and blend to smooth paste. Sprinkle some water if needed
  2. Apply this masala well to both sides of fish. Refrigerate it for 20 min
  3. Preheat the pan and add oil to fry.
  4. Sprinkle semolina on one side of fish and keep this side on oil.
  5. Now sprinkle semolina on the side facing upwards
  6. Shallow fry both sides until crisp and golden brown in colour
  7. Garnish and serve hot
