Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Corn meal 1/2 cup
  2. Chopped green chili 1 tbsp
  3. Chopped coriander 1 tbsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Red chili powder 2 tsp
  6. Chat masala powder 1 tsp
  7. Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  8. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  9. Chopped onion 1 tbsp
  10. Oil for frying and 1 tbsp


  1. Coarsely grind the peas in a grinder.
  2. Strain the flour and mix in the peas, salt, red chili and green chili, coriander, cumin powder, chat masala, lemon juice and 1 tsp oil. Add in sufficient water and make a smooth and a thick batter.
  3. Heat the oil in a wok, make pakoda shapes of the mixture, then fry each vada till they are golden and crispy.
