ABOUT Dry Masala Peas RECIPE

This green legume is loaded with A, B-1, B-6, C, and a supersized serving of osteoporosis-fighting K. One cup of boiled green peas has 46% of your RDA of vitamin K-1, known for maintaining bone health and helping blood to clot to prevent bleeding. Peas are high in fiber and low in fat and contain no cholesterol. Plus, they're a good source of vegetable protein.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 tablespoon- Oil
  2. 1 cup - fresh Green peas
  3. 1 teaspoon - cumin seeds
  4. 1 teaspoon - ginger paste
  5. A pinch of asafoetida
  6. 1 green chili - chopped
  7. 1/4 teaspoon - Red Chilli powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoon - Turmeric powder
  9. 1 teaspoon - Coriander powder
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1/4 teaspoon - garam masala
  12. 1/4 teaspoon - Dry mango powder
  13. Handful Coriander leaves finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over a medium heat. Add Cumin seeds when cumin seeds color changes then add asafoetida,ginger paste, and fry for 2 - 3 minutes.
  2. Add turmeric powder and green chili. Add Fresh peas and salt to taste. Gently stir well for 2 minutes until well combined. Mix and cover with a tight lid and cook on a low heat for 8-10 minutes until done.
  3. After 10 minutes add all the spices like red chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala and dry mango powder. Mix all the ingredients well. Dry masala peas are ready to serve. Garnish with coriander leaves while serving.
