ABOUT Bengali Style Duck Eggs Spicy Gravy. RECIPE

It is a lip smaking dish of Bengal. Duck eggs are tastier than normal chicken eggs. Eggs are first boiled then deskinned and fried. A spicy gravy is thrn made with different spices to enrich its flavour.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Duck eggs boiled and de skinned 4
  2. Potato cut into half and fried 3
  3. Ginger garlic paste 2 tea spoon
  4. Onion paste 2 onions
  5. Tomato puree half cup
  6. Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
  7. Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Garam masala powder 1 tea spoon
  9. Green cardamom whole 3
  10. Cinnamon 1"
  11. Bay leaf 2
  12. Oil for frying the eggs
  13. Oil for cooking 2 table spoon
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Sugar 1/2 tea spoon
  16. Slitted green chili 2
  17. Coriander leaves handful for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Smear the eggs with salt and turmeric.
  3. Deep fry until golden brown.
  4. Heat 2 table spoon oil in a kadai.
  5. Add whole spices.
  6. When crackle, add ginger garlic paste.
  7. Saute 1 minute.
  8. Now add onion paste and saute 5 minutes.
  9. Add tomato puree and dry masala powder.
  10. Add salt. Cook until oil separates form gravy.
  11. Now add half cup water and bring it to boil.
  12. Add fried potato and eggs.
  13. Simmer 5 minutes.
  14. Add garam masala, ghee, slitted green chili and coriander leaves.
  15. Serve hot with roti, rice, paratha etc.
