Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. boiled potato 2 medium size
  2. Bread slices 6-7
  3. 1 onion chopped medium size
  4. Half bell pepper ( any colour)
  5. 1 pics chilli
  6. coriander
  7. salt as per taste
  8. black pepper ( as per taste)
  9. cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  10. chat masala 1 teaspoon
  11. 1 lemon juice
  12. oil for greasing tawa
  13. for yogurt paste:
  14. 2 spoon yogurt (regular yogurt)
  15. mustard seeds
  16. curry leaves
  17. salt( pinch of salt)
  18. 1 teaspoon oil( I used olive oil)


  1. Cut the bread slices into round shape with help of bowl( katori), or cookie cutter.
  2. Now in mixing bowl take mashed potatoes, onions finely chopped, bell pepper finely chopped, coriander,chili cut into small pieces,salt,black pepper, chat masala,cumin powder and lemon juice. Mix them all really well.
  3. Heat 1 small spoon of oil in a small pan,after oil is hot enough put mustard seeds and curry leaves. After mustard seeds start cracking put this tadka in the yogurt and mix well,put little salt and mix.
  4. Now take bread slice( which is cut into round) but potato mixer on one side of the bread, heat the tawa or non stick flat pan, grease the pan with oil and put the bread on tawa( put potato mixture side down on the hot tawa)
  5. Now put the yogurt mixture on top of the bread and spread it evenly and cover it with lid and let them cook for 5 min on low flame
  6. You will see that upper layer of bread has become fully, mean it’s ready to serve
  7. Enjoy bread idili in breakfast( garnish with coriander) with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
