- Idli batter - 1+ 1/2 cups
- carrot - medium - pureed
- Boiled green peas - 1/4 cup
- oil - As required
- coriander leaves ground to a paste 1/ 4 cup blanched pureed spinach leaves or everyday green coriander / mint leaves chutney

My Tip:
Tip : Need to mix in enough purees / chutneys so that batter is of dropping consistency. In case it is a bit loose mix in with some fine semolina or powdered oats, keep it aside for a few minutes so that a dropping consistency batter is obtained - suitable for Appe preparation. I usually prepare with the last portion of batter remaining after I have prepared idlis for a couple of days, hence makes an enjoyable variation
